Mom! Thanks for Saving the Legos!

Every time I sweep the floor, I pluck them out of the dust. Every time I travel down the hall, I pluck them from my tender feet.
The hours of enjoyment, the sparkling eyes when showing off some amazing creation. These are thanks enough.

Mom! I am Concerned About Eating Whole Organic Foods

We'd probably faint! HaHa! Of course our smaller children don't care where it came from, as long as they are being fed!

FYI, they sometimes host school fieldtrips. We were able to dig potatoes, feed pigs and chickens and make fresh cider with a handcranked press!

We usually hear grumbling and complaining about the things we do to/for our kiddos that help keep them healthy. Baths, mittens, coats, veggies, etc. These all seem to be the bane of normal, fun existance for our children. While we love our kiddies and know what a fight it can be to keep our children healthy, there are some Moms whose efforts are not entirely her own. They must rely on doctors and nurses, tests, and machines and ultimately -hopefully on God.
We should always be praying for one another, but there are times when a multitude of prayer, that kind of prayer that is in complete agreement among many members of the body of Christ are not a routine matter, but are coveted.

Ewan Eliezer is a little man that cuddles with a monkey and is winning hearts all over the place, even while his little heart struggles to keep his body alive. His parents, James and Kirsten have given the keeping of Ewan's unique heart to God.
This precious guy (just look at the pics on the website!) has had an amazing impact already in the building of the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth. He has been instrumental in the connections of so many hundreds of people to pray corporately.
Ewan, we are still praying for you, sweet little bean! You have fantastic parents and an army of prayer warriors behind you, lifting you up to the Father for His healing hand to touch your heart.

"Sit back and take a break! I'll wash the dishes and put away the laundry!" I fantasize about hearing my children say this.
Especially today.

"I finished my homework before dinner!"

Allright, I give, there are some children out there who love school and are organized. They excell at many things, including homework. Then, there are the rest of them. The social part of school is what they love, the work part - not so much! How many of us have fought and grumbled our way through our child's homework with them for hours on end some evenings, just to have the child come home the next night, with more practice work, telling us they STIILL don't understand what they are to do. Is it time for some perspective?
Real India

Real India is about giving an education to children who would otherwise not have any formal training. These children are among the poorest of the poor, without opportunity. Real India gives these children school supplies, uniforms, sometimes food and pays for their tuition. There is no free education in India. Without an education, most of these children will end up begging, prostituting, and digging through garbage dumps for a living. Check it out with your blessed, educated kiddos. Perhaps you can make a difference in the life of someone who dreams of being educated.

Mom! I'm Totally Prepared...

"I'm totally prepared for my birthday party! My room is clean, the invites are done and I can help decorate!"

HaHaHa!!! When does THAT ever happen? Usually, moms are running around trying to get the house into Martha Stewart status, planning something that she thinks all the other moms are doing, saving money by making a cake and invitations and running out of steam!

Here's a secret...okay, it isn't a secret, but it's pretty cool. My friend makes these terrific paper cakes! Sound strange? They are cute, gorgeous, and wonderful. Mom! I have three clean pairs of underpants left!

We usually hear, "Mom, I have no clean underpants!" and this, when a child is fresh from a shower, with minutes to spare before leaving the house. Instruction has been repeated time and again to say when the stock of clean items of clothing are desperately low, to no avail. Perhaps one day. In fact, I think I'll go check my own underpants drawer...
